The Triangle School Wastewater Treatment System is in fact a "wastewater management" system where so-called pollutants are transformed into reusable resources. Water is purified and recycled, while nutrients, such as phosphorus and nitrogen, are extracted by the designed ecosystem and stored for later use.

lizardThe Triangle School facility uses a hybrid system consisting of constructed wetlands, soil filters, and a greenhouse containing both aquatic and soil filters. Water is reused for toilet flushing, irrigation of the landscape plants, and for the creation of two small ponds.
